Biography
Tiffany Lee Tin Yan
Soprano Tiffany Lee received her Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree in Vocal and Opera Studies from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studying under soprano Yuki Ip. During her studies, she has been awarded the Cecil Leong Scholarship (Undergraduate) and had also been selected to perform in masterclasses by Gregory Massingham and Wang Yunpeng.
After graduating, Tiffany has also been involved in various performances of different genres. Such as dubbing for Disney movies in Cantonese, musical productions, jazz shows and opera-related school tour. She sings as the character, Nancy, in the the movie “Disenchanted”(2022), cantonese dubbing version. She has also been performing in an outreach school tour by Hong Kong Arts Festival, performing excerpts from “The Cunning Little Vixen”, an opera by Leoš Janáček. Apart from that, she acted in various musical productions through out these years. Such as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and some other cantonese original musicals brought by Actors' Family. They are ”The Caucasian Chalk Circle Musical', "Fantasie in Yau Tsim Mong", “Cinematic Memories on Train No. 5” and “Memorable Banquet”. Tiffany was also involved in multiple shows in other genres. For example, “Since When”, a music and installation show brought by Tai Kwun, jazz performances at Freespace Jazz Fest with Vocal Jazz Tribe, Driftwood Ensemble, another jazz concert “Jazz Up Series: The Present ” at Kwai Tsing Theatre.
Besides, Tiffany has also been invited to sing in different kinds of gigs. Such as Christmas Concert 2022 held by Stagedoor Asia, as wedding parties/event singer, movie soundtracks, advertisements, demos and CD singers.
Back in her school years, Tiffany has performed in various opera productions and concerts. She has sung as multiple roles such as Susanna, from Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro”; Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff; Third Spirit in Mozart’s The Magic Flute; Mademoiselle Silberklang in The Impresario; Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni; Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel; a novice in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. Tiffany was also involved in singing opera chorus at Opera Hong Kong. Such as Otello, Aida, and Turandot.
Apart from Tiffany’s performing carreer, she has also been a singing tutor since 2017 and has also conducted singing group classes at various music centres. She coaches classical and musical singing as well as pop style. From one-on-one classes to coaching school’s musical production, she is actively doing education work, sharing her experience to students. She has also been the sessional choir tutor for Vocal Jazz Tribe, and she is one of the choir conductors at The Methodist Church, Hong Kong.
Tiffany is passionate in both performing and teaching. She enjoys very much in sharing and discovering one’s possibilies and the process of developing voices, including her own. She is always thankful for every chance she had which leads her to be a better performer and tutor. She will continue to pursue her passion while enjoy living in the present. “Never stop learning, never stop enjoying.”
